About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the sales team’s day-to-day execution and performance
  • Report directly to the CEO
  • Work with the VP of Strategy on business development and relationships
  • Work with the VP of RevOps on reporting, forecasting, and sales operations
  • Turn company priorities into clear plans, ownership, and action
  • Manage and coach account executives through one-to-ones, deal reviews, and practical feedback
  • Learn the product and understand cannabis retailers’ operating challenges to sharpen sales positioning
  • Build, document, and reinforce repeatable sales processes from prospecting through onboarding handoff
  • Run weekly pipeline reviews, forecast calls, and performance reporting with RevOps
  • Maintain deal-desk discipline, standard deal terms, and approval workflows
  • Coordinate with marketing, partnerships, enterprise sales, and customer success
  • Support successful customer launches after signature
  • Help develop the 2027 sales plan, quotas, and resource needs
  • Assess team capabilities, recruit where needed, and develop future sales leaders
  • Improve data usage, prioritization, and opportunity execution
  • Potentially expand remit to enterprise sales and partnerships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in sales leadership
  • Track record of managing and developing account executives and improving team results
  • Structured approach to building sales processes and establishing accountability
  • Ability to provide hands-on coaching and specific guidance to improve execution
  • Experience owning pipeline reviews, forecast accuracy, KPI reporting, and translating data into decisions
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or a comparable CRM and supporting sales tools
  • Reliable follow-through, clear communication, and accountability
  • Cannabis experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional leaders from POS, retail technology, or adjacent markets considered
  • Comfort working closely with an involved CEO and building structure in a growth-stage business
  • Ability to identify priorities, question assumptions, diagnose problems, adapt based on results or customer feedback, and communicate clearly
  • Comfortable with travel for customer visits, industry events, and team collaboration
