About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the company’s sole People Operations lead and first point of contact for employees and managers on HR matters across 12 countries
- Own end-to-end onboarding, including offer paperwork, pre-boarding, orientation and 30/60/90-day check-ins
- Advise on employee relations matters; conduct investigations, document outcomes and resolve concerns in line with local law
- Run the performance management cycle, including annual reviews, calibration support and performance improvement plans
- Coach managers on effective feedback
- Partner with Finance and payroll providers to support accurate, timely multi-country payroll
- Collect and validate payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies
- Administer and maintain the HRIS as the source of truth for employee data
- Ensure data integrity, manage system updates and integrations, and produce headcount and people reports
- Manage PEO and EOR relationships, including service issues, renewals, compliance questions and escalations
- Administer benefits, including open enrollment, vendor management, employee questions and benchmarking
- Manage offboarding, exit interviews, final pay coordination and documentation
- Analyze exit trends to identify retention risks and opportunities
- Design and lead engagement initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs and virtual and in-person events
- Maintain the employee handbook, country-specific policies and HR processes
- Monitor employment law changes and maintain compliance across operating countries
- Support compensation reviews, promotions and leave administration with leadership and Finance
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years as an HR generalist or manager
- Experience as a solo or small-team HR lead is ideal
- Experience supporting a distributed, multi-country workforce across 12 countries
- Experience working with PEOs and/or EORs
- Strong working knowledge of US employment law and familiarity with employment practices in Europe and APAC
- Ability to research local requirements quickly
- Hands-on experience administering an HRIS; BambooHR is a plus
- Experience supporting multi-country payroll
- Sound judgment handling sensitive employee relations matters with discretion, empathy and objectivity
- Self-directed and highly organized, able to prioritize competing demands and deliver without a larger team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build trust across cultures and time zones
- Comfort working with Google Sheets or Excel to maintain records, spot trends and create reports
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours for colleagues in other time zones
- Experience supporting ISO certification and surveillance audits, such as ISO 9001 or ISO/IEC 27001
- Ability to keep training, competency and onboarding records audit-ready and maintain people-related controls and documentation
- Experience administering immigration and work authorization processes
- Form I-9/E-Verify compliance experience
- Experience coordinating US visa and green card cases, such as H-1B, TN, O-1 and PERM, with outside immigration counsel
- Experience supporting work permits and visas for international hires and business travel
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification is a plus
- Experience in a technology company is a plus
