About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage operations and administration of assigned projects with bottom-line profit accountability
  • Review and approve estimates and schedules for negotiated projects and hard bid jobs
  • Facilitate job turnover from estimating to the project team and sign off on budget and fee
  • Supervise subcontract bidding and negotiations; approve subcontracts and major material purchase orders
  • Review contract terms and conditions and assist with contract negotiations
  • Lead project planning, job start meetings, and planning sessions
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling procedures, including baseline schedules, monthly updates, and three-week rolling schedules
  • Establish and maintain cost control according to company standards
  • Lead project mobilization and job setup; ensure proper staffing, tools, and resources
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and oversee qualified construction personnel
  • Supervise project team activities for compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality standards
  • Conduct job visits and reviews, report project status, and enforce the Special Risk Alert Policy
  • Maintain positive cash flow and ensure timely progress payments
  • Ensure timely job closeout and closed-job reports
  • Ensure accurate management reports, including Jobs in Progress
  • Monitor employee compliance with job responsibilities and conduct performance evaluations
  • Maintain client contact and develop new or renewed client relationships with Business Development
  • Attend proposal presentations and assist with presentation materials
  • Assist the Division Manager with non-operating functions
  • Monitor and manage bottom-line profit of assigned projects
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Drafting and computer skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems, including scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating
  • Ability to perform all essential Senior Project Manager responsibilities
