About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage VDC coordination, resources, deliverables, and pursuits content for assigned divisions or markets
- Oversee and implement BIM and VDC digital technologies and methodologies on construction projects
- Perform essential Assistant VDC Lead responsibilities and duties
- Support talent identification, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and assignment management for VDC personnel
- Manage project productivity, efficiency, deliverables, and budgets
- Support business planning and execution of business objectives and goals
- Oversee VDC tasks and resources supporting project sites and pursuits
- Lead pursuit reviews and develop content, renderings, graphics, animations, and other visuals
- Support design-build, preconstruction, and operations teams with VDC project setup
- Review, plan, and manage project requirements and deliverables
- Manage automation practices supporting coordination deliverables
- Schedule and manage VDC-specific activities and milestones
- Set up background models using real-world and project coordinates
- Conduct constructability reviews and resolve design conflicts with design and trade partners
- Resolve coordination clashes across multiple projects
- Manage model setup for as-built, facility operations, maintenance, and closeout deliverables
- Review modeling and detailing work for quality and completeness
- Communicate with divisional leadership and incorporate feedback
- Manage OKRs, report metrics, and use KPIs to drive VDC, divisional, and regional goals
- Oversee digital folder organization, data management, and archiving
- Develop content and facilitate internal and external training on VDC processes and tools
- Oversee field support and resolve coordination issues
- Write, review, and train operations on VDC coordination work orders, scopes of work, and contracts
- Oversee meetings and train project teams to run coordination meetings
- Complete other assigned responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or certification in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 8–10 years of design, engineering, or construction experience
- At least 5–6 years of VDC or Detailing-related experience
- In-depth understanding of commercial construction means and methods
- Experience managing teams and driving department objectives
- Extensive knowledge of industry-standard BIM software applications
- Advanced Revit experience expected
- Ability to educate others on VDC systems, processes, and tools
- Proficient ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing multiple project assignments
- Critical thinking and effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to foster collaboration and partner with project and trade partners
- Ability to travel to support company VDC needs
