About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Find the problems worth solving across the business, decide what to build, and build it
Report to the VP of Engineering
Build full-stack features for school administrators and substitute teachers
Build operational systems for the marketplace, including billing, timekeeping, configuration, integrations, and admin tools
Build automations and AI agents to replace manual work
Work directly with Product, Operations, Customer Success, Sales, and Finance
Take problems from first conversation through shipped software
Define requirements, set scope, make UX and product tradeoffs, and determine when work is ready to ship
Use data and user feedback to measure results
Automate repetitive workflows using software, AI agents, APIs, MCP, and n8n

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of software engineering or equivalent hands-on product building
Shipped real products that customers use
Hands-on experience with React for building user interfaces in JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience working with REST APIs
Experience using SQL and relational databases
Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, agents, or AI-powered workflows
Ability to define requirements, set scope, make UX and product tradeoffs, and decide when work is ready to ship
Ability to collaborate during U.S. business hours
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future sponsorship
Experience with Clojure or another Lisp, Datomic, AWS infrastructure, or browser extensions is advantageous
