About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic communications advice across SWITCH BC
  • Support a coordinated, organization-wide approach to collaboration and partner engagement
  • Advise leaders and program teams on communications strategy, messaging, engagement approaches, and information sharing
  • Produce communications plans, website content, newsletters, brochures, reports, speeches, educational materials, social media posts, monthly program summaries, videos, and presentations
  • Plan and host events
  • Lead SWITCH BC’s organization-wide collaboration strategy
  • Develop and maintain systems to capture, organize, track, and report partner feedback, advice, questions, and emerging issues
  • Maintain records of partner engagement and feedback for planning, decision-making, reporting, and follow-up
  • Identify collaboration opportunities and ensure partner input is considered and communicated
  • Identify themes and trends in partner feedback and provide summaries and insights to leadership and program teams
  • Build and maintain productive partner relationships and support timely follow-up
  • Establish common collaboration tools, templates, processes, and practices
  • Develop clear, accessible, audience-appropriate content for internal and external audiences
  • Coordinate communications activities with program teams
  • Support campaigns, announcements, events, reports, and initiatives from planning through evaluation
  • Maintain communications and engagement records and support consistent organizational messaging
  • Align communications with SWITCH BC’s brand, priorities, and standards
  • Provide communications support to the Psychological Health and Safety Program
  • Support communications planning and engagement with Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees and other program partners
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Business Administration
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Experience working within a collaborative multi-partner organization is considered a strong asset
  • IAP2 Canada Certificate in Public Participation (P2) or Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3) is considered an asset
  • Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation is considered an asset
  • Equivalent training/work experience in public engagement and collaboration
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing communications plans and strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to support partner engagement, collaboration, advisory groups, working groups, or similar multi-party initiatives
  • Strong ability to establish collaboration and engagement systems for documenting, organizing, tracking, and reporting on partner feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management, and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with WordPress, SharePoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and other digital communications tools is an asset
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
  • Flexibility to adapt priorities and respond effectively to changing organizational needs
  • Must reside in British Columbia; only candidates living in BC will be interviewed
  • Travel for occasional in-person events within BC is required
