About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Architect technology and customer experience for multiple web products serving patients, pharmacies, and NimbleRx customers
Build scalable platforms, APIs, user interfaces, and web services
Own full-stack features from design through implementation, testing, and release
Mentor junior engineers and interns
Promote best practices and high-quality development techniques
Solve challenging design and technical problems
Enhance system usability and performance for a consistent user experience
Collaborate with software engineers, Product Management, and Design to understand requirements and deliver high-quality code on time
Lead or drive engineering processes through planning, design, delivery, and maintenance
Own complex projects end-to-end with minimal guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years’ experience with backend APIs, web services, and user interface development
Rich development experience with Java/Spring Boot, React, ECMAScript standard, and SQL (MySQL)
Experience developing scalable, customer-facing, web-based applications
Experience practicing and advocating for test-driven development
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience with Terraform/Terragrunt or AWS is nice to have
Current Canadian work authorization is strongly preferred
Visa sponsorship may be considered on an exceptional basis for highly qualified candidates who possess specialized skills critical to this role
