About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop new business opportunities and expand existing customer relationships
- Prospect, identify, and qualify potential customers and market opportunities
- Manage and grow assigned customer accounts
- Promote plastic injection molding, tooling, molds, components, and related manufacturing solutions
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and key decision-makers
- Work with internal engineering, tooling, operations, and program teams to develop customer solutions
- Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and commercial information
- Manage opportunities from initial contact through customer award and program launch
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established guidelines
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
- Maintain accurate sales and customer information in CRM systems
- Attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
- Collaborate with internal teams to support customer satisfaction and successful program execution
- Meet established sales, revenue, and business-development objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–8+ years in Sales, account management, or business-development experience in plastic injection molding, tooling, plastics manufacturing, or a related industry
- Experience developing new business and growing existing customer accounts in automotive and/or non-automotive markets
- Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers, or automotive tooling and molding programs is preferred for automotive-focused positions
- Understanding of injection molding, tooling, molds, and/or plastic manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to develop new business and/or grow existing customer accounts
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand customer requirements and communicate technical solutions
- Results-oriented with strong business development and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout the United States and Canada
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/sales systems
- Travel is required for this position
