About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with the Synchrony Executive Leadership Team, Digital CEO, business leaders, and senior stakeholders to identify and assess growth and new business opportunities
- Drive the vision of the competitive landscape and digital trends, recommending strategies across integrated partners, digital partners, and multiple products
- Ensure annual Digital strategic plans align with the broader organization’s long-term strategy
- Translate strategies into targeted actions and growth programs with the Digital senior leadership team
- Partner with M&A, Ventures, and other stakeholders to define and execute acquisition and partnership strategy
- Lead and deliver key strategic projects
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Report to the SVP of Platform Strategy and Networks
- Contribute to the broader annual strategic planning process and growth initiatives for the Digital platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience in management consulting and/or financial services/payments/consumer finance space; or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 13+ years of experience in those fields
- 5 years of experience driving strategy around business growth, including new product lines, business offerings, or new business opportunities
- Minimum of 5 years of relationship management and leadership experience with cross-functional business partners and senior leadership
- Minimum 3+ years of direct team leadership experience
- Strong quantitative skills and ability to create data-driven recommendations
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as required
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation, and submit fingerprints
- Must satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required
- Employment visa sponsorship is not available
- MBA preferred
- Strategy consulting experience, including at least 5 years at a leading management consulting firm or in-house strategy team preferred
- Financial services experience, specifically consumer financing, loans, or credit cards, preferred but not required
