About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Purchase quality products on time at a competitive price to support company growth and maintain sales and margins
- Review item movement to determine purchase needs
- Create purchase orders and review purchase order confirmations
- Physically review inventory daily, focusing on critical and sensitive items
- Handle credits and returns promptly to minimize shrink
- Work with pricing, vendors and corporate to ensure purchase orders are priced correctly
- Work with Transportation to maximize profitability
- Coordinate with Sales to maximize timely inventory utilization, inventory turns and reduce inventory shrink
- Maintain accurate and current item maintenance information, including COO and local information
- Use only fully approved corporate vendors and follow corporate contracts
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years purchasing in like field and/or working within a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment
- Excel, Word, 10 key and typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
