About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning for Territory Managers in assigned districts
  • Monitor sales activities to achieve profitability and growth goals
  • Establish annual sales objectives and quotas
  • Project sales volume and profit for existing and new properties
  • Assign and reassign accounts as necessary
  • Recruit, motivate, develop, coach, and evaluate Territory Managers
  • Lead change management, training, and development programs
  • Assist with sales calls and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in major client presentations and discussions
  • Collaborate with operating divisions and internal departments
  • Increase sales through account penetration, sales-call planning, and follow-up
  • Use product knowledge, ROI analysis, Phocas, GForce, and Salesforce.com to target prospects
  • Maintain, build, and expand customer relationships
  • Coordinate customer information with Merchandising and Operations
  • Monitor accounts and address customer satisfaction issues
  • Escalate accounts at risk of discontinuing service
  • Work with accounts receivable to ensure timely invoice payment
  • Travel to Territory Managers, customers, and prospects; overnight travel may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School education required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • 2 or more years' experience successfully growing profitable sales in the foodservice industry
  • 5+ years' foodservice sales experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Strong leadership skills, including mentoring and developing individuals and teams
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including pricing and forecasting
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines
  • Computer literacy, including customer databases, internet navigation, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Phocas, Gforce, Box, Salesforce.com, and PeopleSoft a plus
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record meeting company minimum standards
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Required software, dedicated distraction-free workspace, and business-friendly environment for remote work
