About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and execute procurement of finished goods from global manufacturers and suppliers based on forecasts
- Recommend forecast adjustments based on selling patterns, Corporate Accounts, and customer intelligence
- Maintain purchasing master data, including vendor lead times, minimum order requirements, pricing, insurance certificates, and agreements
- Replenish warehouse inventory based on weeks of supply, current trends, and history
- Communicate with suppliers regarding expediting inventory, delaying inventory, and program changes
- Review inventory levels across distribution centers and transfer overstocked inventory where appropriate
- Manage purchasing processes to ensure competitive pricing, negotiated lead times, quality standards, correct invoicing, and competitive freight
- Manage supplier relationships and communicate pricing, lead times, product releases, discontinued items, and hotel brand standards
- Collaborate with suppliers, Accounting, sales, and sales management to resolve freight damage, returns, and accounts payable discrepancies
- Expedite purchase orders to meet requested vendor receipt and delivery lead times
- Set up and update item numbers in PeopleSoft
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- 4–8 years of progressive experience with purchasing and material control within the supply chain
- 6–8 years' experience using demand planning software
- Demand Solutions a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, listening, organizational, and project management skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives and deadlines autonomously
- Ability to manage large, complex projects
- Ability to build working relationships with internal business partners, vendors, and customers
- Strong problem-solving, judgment, professionalism, detail orientation, and customer service skills
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including pricing and forecasting
- Proficient use of PeopleSoft and Microsoft Windows and Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of current automobile insurance coverage
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
- May require evening and weekend work depending on business needs
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
