About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote the company's products and services and build relationships with new and existing accounts
  • Help Sysco customers succeed while achieving company sales and profit goals
  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business within the assigned territory
  • Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals
  • Research customer business needs and develop an appropriate mix of products and services
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers
  • Provide customers with information about market conditions, product innovations, competitors, prices, and sales
  • Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and product use
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, and other events
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable, working with the credit department and clients
  • Manage deliveries and troubleshoot order-process issues such as out-of-stock, special-order, and low-inventory items
  • Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events
  • Attend general sales and district meetings
  • Engage in ongoing training sessions
  • Assist with training new employees as requested
  • Review and analyze daily and weekly sales, special-order, customer bid, and gross-profit reports
  • Perform administrative duties including preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED and 3 years Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relatable experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
  • Current automobile insurance with bodily injury limits of $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident, and property damage limits of $100,000
  • Pass employment testing
  • Must sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside or willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of territory
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to read, write, speak English
  • Bi-Lingual preferred
  • Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef Experience preferred
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to work some non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
