About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote Sysco products and services and build relationships with new and existing accounts
  • Help Sysco customers succeed while achieving company sales and profit goals
  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business within the assigned territory
  • Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals
  • Research customer business needs and develop product and service mixes to meet those needs
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products
  • Provide customers with market, product, pricing, availability, and product-use information
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, and other events
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable in coordination with the credit department and clients
  • Manage deliveries and troubleshoot order-process issues
  • Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events
  • Attend general sales and district meetings
  • Engage in ongoing training sessions
  • Assist with training new employees as requested
  • Review and analyze sales, special-order, bid-file, and gross-profit-margin reports
  • Prepare sales budgets, reports, records, credits, pick-up requests, quotes, and menu suggestions
  • Work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED and 3 years Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relatable experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
  • Current automobile insurance with bodily injury limits of $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident and property damage limit of $100,000
  • Must pass employment testing
  • Must sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the territory
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Preferred: bilingual; restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience
