About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote the company's products and services
- Build relationships with new and existing accounts
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth
- Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals
- Research customer business needs and develop product and service mixes
- Evaluate market trends and recommend products
- Share information about market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products, prices, and sales
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product use
- Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
- Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings
- Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary
- Manage deliveries and troubleshoot order-process problems
- Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events
- Attend sales and district meetings
- Engage in ongoing training sessions
- Assist with training new employees
- Review and analyze sales, order, and gross-profit reports
- Prepare sales budgets and reports, maintain sales records, process credits and pick-up requests, prepare sales quotes and menu suggestions, and file reports
- Work some evening, weekend, and holiday hours as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED and 3 years Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relatable experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance with bodily injury limits of $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident, and property damage limits of $100,000
- Pass employment testing
- Must sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
- Reside or willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of territory
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to read, write, speak English
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
- Up to 75% travel
- Bi-Lingual preferred
- Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef Experience preferred
