About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams including software engineers, QA, DevOps, data engineers, and product managers
  • Provide technical direction, architecture guidance, coaching, and performance management
  • Build and evolve agentic AI capabilities and AI-assisted workflows such as automated code generation, test creation, and Jira-to-MR pipelines
  • Drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence through CI/CD optimization, automated quality gates, technical debt management, and DORA metrics
  • Own the technical roadmap with architecture, platform engineering, cybersecurity, and design teams
  • Balance feature delivery, platform modernization, and automation investment
  • Manage technical vendor relationships and evaluate AI/ML tooling, cloud-native platforms, and data infrastructure
  • Recruit, hire, and develop engineering talent
  • Make architecture trade-off decisions and lead design/code reviews
  • Guide technical decisions across backend services, frontends, APIs, and data stores
  • Define AI governance and drive measurable business impact
  • Run high-output teams using Agile and DevOps practices
  • Use productivity and quality metrics such as DORA, MTTR, and defect rates to improve outcomes
  • Build a reliability-focused engineering culture using monitoring, alerting, and SLOs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
  • Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of experience developing large-scale business systems applications in an agile product development environment
  • Engineering background across Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, and databases
  • 2-4 years of people leadership managing cross-functional engineering teams with 5+ engineers in direct reporting relationships (Required)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Preferred: 2-4 years applying AI/ML concepts or LLM-based tools in production environments
  • Preferred: 2+ years driving delivery excellence through process improvement, automation, and measurable gains in velocity
  • Preferred: 2+ years working with big data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, or Kafka and data pipeline operations
  • Preferred: 1+ year operating in cloud-native/Kubernetes environments with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience with API platforms, gateways, or developer ecosystems
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud certification, or AI/ML certification
  • Knowledge of modern application architectures, agentic AI concepts, LLM integration, automation patterns, Agile and DevOps practices, data ecosystems, Kubernetes, API ecosystems, enterprise security, observability, reliability, and engineering metrics
