About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and support the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of professional development and continuous learning programs
  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships
  • Manage all employees of the Business Development function and oversee performance management and hiring within the department
  • Manage customer relationships and market additional services through cross-utilization of broad service offerings
  • Manage business development strategies and processes
  • Assess business development needs of operating, business and functional units
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of business development programs, policies and strategies
  • Design and execute key programmatic elements of the business development process
  • Evaluate strategies and programs against established goals
  • Provide facilitation and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding business development methods and tools
  • Manage individual development planning for executives and emerging leaders
  • Provide consultative services regarding mentoring
  • Plan and lead short- and long-term business development program planning
  • Prepare budgetary recommendations for departmental goals and resource management
  • Prepare sales presentations and proposals/quotes
  • Develop and negotiate contracts with management and estimators
  • Supervise employees across various business development work units

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships
  • Experience in sales planning
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitating skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field desirable
  • Five years of wind industry experience
  • Two years’ experience of managing teams
  • Ability to travel
  • Prolonged periods sitting performing desk work
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted at times
