About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide product education, training, and support primarily through telephone or video conference platforms
  • Provide escalated technical and/or clinical support and education to current customers and healthcare professionals
  • Respond within one business day to inbound calls or emails transferred from Customer Technical Support
  • Conduct scheduled video remote pump trainings
  • Respond to customer concerns using approved communication guidelines, product labeling, and diabetes standards of care
  • Use video capabilities such as Teams or Zoom to assess and resolve customer issues and training needs
  • Deliver timely resolution, education, and training using approved materials and clinical guidelines
  • Conduct virtual educational classes on general diabetes education, Tandem products, and advanced insulin pump therapy management
  • Document customer contacts accurately in CRM systems and/or for the Customer Technical Support team
  • Communicate with field clinical or sales teams when additional field action is required
  • Identify potential health and safety issues and follow internal notification procedures
  • Act as a customer advocate representing customer needs
  • Participate in education, certification, and promotion for healthcare professionals and external trainers as directed
  • Conduct educational classes supporting diabetes technology and pump therapy education for prospective and existing customers
  • Provide product and service information through health fairs, conventions, or promotions
  • Complete the required training plan before assuming job responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HIPAA, and regulatory, legal, and safety requirements
  • Perform other assigned duties and schedules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in diabetes self-management skills, including insulin pumps, infusion sets, continuous glucose monitoring equipment, carbohydrate counting instruction, medication management, chronic complications, and emergency management
  • Ability to relate effectively with customers and health care professionals
  • Ability to coach customers one-on-one to answer questions and resolve product-related issues
  • Ability to communicate with customers to resolve issues according to company protocols and requirements
  • Skilled at presenting educational material through telephone and video conferencing
  • Ability to react to changing situations in a timely, calm, and confident manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing market
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and internet; CRM software familiarity preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA desired
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bilingual English/Spanish desired
  • RN, RD, RPh, or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience
  • Maintenance of registration and licensure through clinical education
  • Must be Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or CDCES-eligible
  • Continuing education on technical use of insulin pump therapy and related special considerations
  • 5 years of clinical diabetes experience conducting diabetes education programs for customers, physicians, and health care professionals
  • 2 years of hands-on clinical experience with insulin pumps, infusion sets, and continuous glucose monitoring systems
  • 2 years of experience using electronic documentation systems
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check
