About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build scalable, reliable backend services in Node.js and Golang
Collect, transform, and deliver large volumes of endpoint data to external destinations
Design and evolve Connect APIs with clear contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility
Build and maintain third-party platform integrations handling authentication, rate limits, payload formats, and failures
Own delivery guarantees including retries, backoff, deduplication, and back-pressure
Build event-driven workflows using NATS and Temporal
Lead technical design for new Connect capabilities and drive decisions across teams
Write design documents for implementation by other engineers
Improve observability through metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting
Write unit tests and partner with QA and automation on integration and end-to-end coverage
Debug production issues, identify root causes, and implement preventive fixes
Mentor engineers and help set standards for design, testing, and operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
8+ years building and running backend services in production
Track record of leading designs and influencing direction beyond your own team
Strong proficiency in Golang or Node.js, and willingness to work in both
Experience designing APIs (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC)
Experience building event-driven systems (NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar) and multi-step workflows
Experience integrating with third-party APIs and SaaS products, including OAuth
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure or AWS
Experience with SQL or NoSQL data stores, git, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Proficient with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot
Must be eligible to obtain FedRAMP clearance at a minimum
Candidates must be US-based
CS degree or related technical field preferred
Experience with NATS or Temporal, or a similar workflow orchestration tool, nice to have
Experience with SIEM or ITSM platforms, or security and endpoint data, nice to have
Experience with React, TypeScript, or multi-tenant SaaS services, nice to have
Sound judgment balancing rapid development against long-term maintainability and supportability
Belief that quality is a shared responsibility and tests are written alongside code
Experienced debugger able to handle production incidents under pressure and fix root causes
Comfortable mentoring others and raising the team's standards
