About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive total store sales and contribute to total store profitability
  • Manage teams executing inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for General Merchandise areas
  • Manage teams of experts in operations, accuracy and efficiency
  • Lead pick, pack and ship fulfillment work when applicable
  • Create a guest-focused culture and lead teams to deliver store sales goals
  • Develop strategies and use workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload
  • Create scheduling plans based on business workload and guest traffic
  • Conduct regular team check-ins to ensure task and workload completion
  • Manage GM backroom and sales floor areas; review reporting, identify gaps and develop corrective plans
  • Oversee Team Leaders' workload planning, transitions, revisions and sales plans
  • Drive fulfillment sales and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently
  • Assess competition and use guest insights and feedback to drive the business
  • Plan, manage and follow up on organizational and operational change
  • Anticipate and identify changes in store trends
  • Develop and coach Team Leaders
  • Establish accountability through clear expectations and performance management
  • Anticipate staffing needs, create talent plans and recruit
  • Promote ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits
  • Perform other duties based on business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to manage conflict, lead and hold others accountable
  • Ability to relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Ability to access all areas of the building
  • Ability to interpret instructions, reports and information
  • Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Regular attendance necessary
