About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify material operational losses and establish the conditions causing those losses
- Design, test, and scale process improvements producing measurable and sustained business results
- Use operational knowledge, quantitative analysis, direct observation, structured root-cause problem solving, process improvement, and experimentation to translate performance gaps into validated changes
- Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs, eliminate waste, and improve productivity while balancing Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Capacity
- Conduct time studies, process observations, waste identification, root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping, Standardized Work, ELS/Productivity Performance analysis, and field leader insight gathering
- Mentor, influence, teach, and train leaders and business partners on Standard Work deployment and sustainment
- Use data and structured problem-solving methodologies from problem identification through root cause, countermeasure development, implementation, and validation
- Partner with building leaders and HQ business partners to identify and prioritize performance losses across process paths, sites, shifts, and operating conditions
- Develop and test causal hypotheses using data, direct observation, process evidence, and structured problem-solving methods
- Design and execute controlled process experiments and pilots with defined hypotheses, baselines, success and failure criteria, data requirements, and sustainment measures
- Establish baselines, decompose performance gaps into measurable loss categories, initiate countermeasures, and measure results
- Collaborate with HQ business partners and field leaders on safety trends, productivity, capacity, store presentation, cost pressures, and future technology and process requirements
- Translate operational insights into scalable solutions and influence broader process design and Continuous Improvement strategies
