About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience
Greet guests, provide assistance, resolve issues, and thank guests after transactions
Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas
Promote physical security throughout the store and exterior property
Respond to and accurately document security incidents
Respond to guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment
Use de-escalation tactics and resources during security incidents
Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support
Perform merchandise receipt checks and communicate shortage trends
Submit incident documentation in the case management system
Use Target's video surveillance system
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
Follow safety policies, report hazards, and perform other duties based on business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be at least 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
Effective communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Ability to climb up and down ladders
Ability to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy
Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance
Flexible availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
