About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience
Greet guests, make eye contact, smile and initiate warm, helpful interactions
Help guests find what they need and resolve issues
Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas
Assess and maintain safe and secure standards throughout the store and exterior property
Respond to and accurately document security incidents in a timely manner
Respond to guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment
Use de-escalation tactics and resources during security incidents
Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support according to AP policies
Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and shortage and communicate trends
Submit incident documentation in Target's case management system
Use Target's video surveillance system
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance
Follow safety policies, best practices and training; report and correct hazards where possible
Perform other duties based on business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be at least 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
Effective communication skills
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Ability to climb up and down ladders
Ability to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy
Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance
Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity and other elements
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
