About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead business value and capability strategy for complex enterprise network decisions
  • Partner with Network Planning & Design, Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Inventory Management, Product, Data Science, Engineering, and other enterprise teams
  • Develop and evaluate future-state network design scenarios, including topology, node roles and locations, flow paths, inventory positioning, capacity, and service/reliability strategies
  • Define analytical approaches and success measures for network design
  • Translate network design scenarios into measurable enterprise outcomes, value drivers, KPIs, assumptions, constraints, and decision criteria
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize capabilities needed for the future-state network across infrastructure, process, technology, data, automation, inventory, and planning
  • Develop recommendations connecting network architecture, flow strategies, capabilities, investments, dependencies, and implementation sequencing
  • Lead business case development, including operating and capital impacts, ROI, NPV, IRR, inventory impacts, service benefits, risk, and sensitivity analysis
  • Establish methodologies for valuing service, reliability, inventory productivity, speed, and other guest and business outcomes
  • Quantify tradeoffs across service, reliability, speed, inventory, capacity, transportation, operating expense, capital, resiliency, and implementation complexity
  • Lead cross-functional alignment on network and capability recommendations
  • Drive clarity on decisions, dependencies, ownership, and sequencing from strategy through execution
  • Influence leaders by translating complex network, operational, and financial considerations into clear recommendations
  • Present recommendations, financial implications, risks, sensitivities, and key decisions to senior leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, network strategy, operations strategy, finance, or related fields
  • Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, and decision making
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with experience translating complex strategies and operational changes into quantified business value and investment recommendations
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, with experience leading complex analyses, working with large and diverse datasets, and translating data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Proven ability to solve complex supply chain problems across service, cost, inventory, capacity, reliability, speed, resiliency, and operational performance
  • Experience building strong cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders to drive alignment and support strategic decision-making
  • Ability to influence senior leaders with clear, practical, data-driven recommendations and effectively communicate tradeoffs, risks, and decisions
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, simplifying complex problems, challenging assumptions, and driving results independently
  • Strong communication skills, including synthesizing complex analysis and presenting enterprise strategies and investment recommendations to Director+ and VP+ audiences
  • Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target
