About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the Safety Activation leader for planning, coordination, and implementation of priority safety initiatives across the Supply Chain network
Drive safe processes and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
Provide safety expertise using lean principles and the hierarchy of controls
Develop and deliver safe processes through engineering and ergonomic solutions with Risk Management, Supply Chain, and HQ leadership stakeholders
Identify areas of risk within activation projects and support implementation of corrective measures through cross-functional alignment
Assess risk, communicate to all levels of management, and ensure safety is incorporated into supply chain processes and activation plans
Escalate and report critical issues, compliance gaps, and emerging risks for the network
Maintain safety subject matter expertise and credentials and engage industry resources as appropriate
Establish scope, priorities, timelines, milestones, and measures of success while managing multiple concurrent initiatives
Support activation readiness, risk assessment, issue resolution, and implementation activities
Ensure safety initiatives are clear, practical, measurable, and sustainable

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree B.A./B.S
Industry expertise and certification in Safety (CSP), Ergonomics or related field
6-8 years business experience
Critical problem solving and analytical skills
Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional partners without direct authority
Excellent relationship building and collaboration
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel as required
Demonstrated project management experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives and competing priorities
Strong understanding of safety compliance, risk assessment and risk mitigation principles
Ability to coordinate complex work, manage stakeholders and drive field adoption of safety solutions
6SIGMA and/or Continuous Improvement experience
Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target
