About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide active leadership for the Tuscarora–Baja area
  • Ensure continuous operation, maintenance, and improvement of the assigned area
  • Establish and assure compliance with operation and maintenance policies, practices, and procedures
  • Support planning, administration, and control of capital, operating, and other budgets
  • Supervise employees and ensure work assignments and expectations are met
  • Lead, develop, mentor, coach, and support employees
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for results
  • Foster innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Promote an inclusive and diverse work atmosphere with open discussion, engagement, and feedback
  • Complete regular self-audits of processes including JSA, LOTO, and Work Permits
  • Implement and advocate corporate messages and programs
  • Provide field leadership to ensure corporate policies, standards, and procedures are followed
  • Represent the company and foster internal and external partnerships
  • Drive and empower safety culture across operating areas
  • Role-model Life Saving Rules and ensure safe facility operation and protection of personnel, the environment, customers, and communities
  • Maintain all levels of ICS training to act as Incident Commander
  • Remain on call and respond to emergency situations
  • Manage employees represented by IBEW Local Union #77 under the collective bargaining agreement
  • Report to the Regional Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successful completion of an Associates, Bachelor's Degree preferred; or diploma in a technical based field of study (Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent); an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in a management or leadership position
  • Energy industry experience, specifically in natural gas transmission/storage operations, is preferred
  • Ability to travel to work locations to meet operational needs
  • Approximately 40% travel
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, engage, and develop a team
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to lead safety and manage work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, precision, and logic
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills with diverse work groups
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and tasks
  • Ability to work independently and on teams
  • Ability to apply business principles to identify, justify, and implement solutions
  • Ability to make sound business decisions based on risk, cost/benefit, economic, and commercial drivers

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based, without restrictions
