About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coach, mentor, and develop project managers
- Manage performance, professional development, and project management best practices across the PMO organization
- Promote collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence
- Oversee a diverse portfolio of strategic projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes within scope, timelines, budgets, and organizational priorities
- Manage project interdependencies, risks, issues, resources, and stakeholder communications
- Support traditional project delivery and Agile methodologies
- Build relationships with executives, business leaders, and key stakeholders
- Provide portfolio updates, insights, and recommendations to leadership
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and remove barriers to success
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain governance standards, reporting frameworks, and portfolio management processes
- Maintain accurate resource-loaded schedules and portfolio reporting
- Support portfolio reviews, prioritization discussions, and strategic planning
- Facilitate project reviews, stakeholder meetings, and communication forums
- Identify business-unit impacts and coordinate mitigation strategies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5+ years of project management, PMO, portfolio management, or related experience
- 1-3+ years of people leadership, supervisory, or team management experience
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects and programs
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and governance practices
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and executive communication skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment
- Familiarity with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions such as HP PPM or comparable platforms
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation, technology, or business initiatives
