About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the full HR operations mandate across the US and Canada, including employment compliance, benefits administration, payroll, and EOR relationship management
  • Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders on workforce planning, talent, and organizational design
  • Administer US employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, carrier relationships, and employee support
  • Manage 401(k) plan administration, compliance testing, communications, and provider coordination
  • Own the TriNet PEO relationship and ensure payroll, benefits, and compliance data accuracy
  • Manage the EOR relationship for Canadian employees and oversee compliance, payroll, and benefits obligations
  • Maintain SAP SuccessFactors employee records, position management, and compensation data
  • Advise on complex US and Canadian employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances, conflict resolution, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with California-specific requirements, including CFRA, PDL, wage and hour regulations, and government filings
  • Maintain North America HR policies and employee handbook
  • Oversee US employment contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and payroll inputs
  • Advise leaders on workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and budget alignment
  • Lead organizational design and career pathway initiatives
  • Drive performance reviews, promotion cycles, and succession planning
  • Provide people data and insights on turnover and engagement
  • Lead North American engagement surveys and local action plans
  • Deliver culture-building programs and team events
  • Partner with ERGs, global DEI initiatives, and Talent Acquisition
  • Coordinate comprehensive onboarding experiences
  • Coach and mentor managers and guide teams through organizational change
  • Coordinate development and leadership training initiatives
  • Liaise with facilities to maintain a safe, welcoming, and compliant LA workplace
  • Manage local suppliers, vendors, and service providers
  • Directly manage one People & Culture Advisor based in São Paulo
  • Lead or participate in global People & Culture projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of HR or People & Culture experience
  • At least 2 years in a managerial capacity
  • Deep expertise in US benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Hands-on experience with TriNet or a comparable PEO platform
  • Experience managing or overseeing an Employer of Record relationship, ideally supporting Canadian employees
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors or comparable HRIS platforms
  • Strong knowledge of California and federal US employment law, with familiarity across Canadian provincial employment standards
  • Experience handling complex employee relations matters
  • Experience supporting workforce planning, organizational design, and talent management initiatives
  • Track record of delivering employee engagement, retention, and culture-focused programs
  • Experience developing managers and supporting leadership teams
  • Comfort using people data and reporting to inform decision-making
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to balance operational execution with strategic priorities across multiple stakeholders and time zones
  • Must be available to work onsite at the Los Angeles office at least three days per week
  • Flexibility to work early hours to collaborate with teams and stakeholders in Europe
