About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze information and recommend innovative solutions to complex business problems related to existing systems
- Own and serve as subject matter expert for large software systems and business initiatives
- Lead software engineering design reviews and assess feasibility within time and cost constraints
- Write extensible software frameworks
- Translate business requirements into software solutions
- Optimize complex code
- Lead architectural design and technical planning for major platforms and features, including the Worldpay Payment Facilitation system
- Create technical specifications, select technologies, and define end-to-end architecture for mission-critical payment solutions
- Develop production-level payment systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Python
- Build complex features and implement third-party integrations such as Stripe and TriPOS
- Develop on GCP and AWS cloud platforms
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with product managers on technical solutions
- Serve as subject matter expert and primary escalation point for production payment issues
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, manage system health on GCP, and patch critical issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- One (1) year of post-baccalaureate experience as a software engineer in the finance field or related position
- Experience with Java, Hibernate, Spring, Apache Struts, Full-Stack Development, Oracle database, High-Volume Transaction Processing, data reporting, and process automation
