About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll for 100–200 US and expatriate staff
  • Ensure compliance with TechnoServe policies, procedures, and time policy
  • Review and audit payroll records and resolve discrepancies with HR and accounting teams
  • Prepare payroll data for accounting-system processing and assist with payroll-liability reconciliation
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance managers to improve payroll processes and provide data-driven recommendations
  • File quarterly and year-end reports, including W-2, 941, and tax deposits
  • Maintain payroll regulations knowledge across multiple states and complete state registrations and filings
  • Resolve payroll tax notices with the payroll provider
  • Assist with 990 filings, audit schedules, donor and statutory audit documentation, and global payroll clearing-account reconciliation
  • Maintain payroll policies and procedures
  • Administer corporate insurance programs, renewals, country-level insurance inventories, and incident reporting
  • Liaise with the global insurance broker and collaborate with country teams on insurance issues
  • Maintain the Country Compliance Database and governance documentation
  • Track governance actions, local board memberships, meeting schedules, entity and tax filing deadlines
  • Support risk policy, asset tracking, risk mitigation action plans, and country-team risk solutions
  • Complete other ad-hoc assignments as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of relevant payroll experience or Master's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with workforce management software platforms or payroll management system required
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing for non-profit organizations operating internationally
  • Experience with insurance management and risk-register and governance tracking preferred
  • Experience with payroll accounting and reconciliations
  • Experience working with UKG and Dynamics 365 Business Central (Sylogist) preferred
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and the MS Office suite
  • Ability to manage complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and execute projects ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior management and provide strategic insights and recommendations
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have US work authorization at the time of application
