Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and deploy high-quality backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
Conduct code reviews and contribute to design discussions
Support hands-on quality assurance efforts and mentor other developers
Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with product and business stakeholders
Integrate AI into delivered solutions and the team's ways of working
Guide developers in adopting AI-driven approaches
Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies that benefit the platform
Apply and promote best practices for performance, scalability, observability, and security
Collaborate with DevOps and Operations teams to ensure software is production-ready and maintainable
Participate in Agile ceremonies and retrospectives
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Contribute to technical direction and improve engineering practices
Tecsys provides AI-powered cloud software for supply chains in the healthcare and distribution sectors

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience designing Java backend systems in production environments, with hands-on experience in systems design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Excellent understanding of object-oriented design, microservices architecture, and RESTful services
Strong experience with Spring Boot, Java 11+, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
Proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, as well as Oracle and SQL Server
Knowledge of NoSQL databases is an asset
Experience with Git, Maven, and modern development environments such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, and Visual Studio Code
Experience integrating AI tools such as Kiro, Claude, or others into daily development work
Ability to design and deliver scalable solutions within complex distributed architectures
Ability to mentor developers, collaborate with the quality assurance team, participate in code reviews, and develop proofs of concept
Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for communicating with clients, vendors, business partners, and colleagues located outside Quebec
