About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Architect and scale automated testing infrastructure
Design, build, maintain and optimise modular, reusable automation frameworks
Ensure automation coverage across applications
Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines to ensure build quality
Design and execute load tests using tools such as JMeter, K6 or Locust
Identify bottlenecks and test auto-scaling capabilities
Define and execute test strategies with development and product teams
Identify automatable scenarios
Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish quality benchmarks
Design and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases
Prepare and maintain test data
Identify, document and track defects using bug-tracking systems such as Jira
Collaborate with software developers to understand technical architecture and resolve defects
Verify fixes and ensure they do not introduce regressions
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives
Provide test estimates, reporting and test summary documentation
Mentor testers and promote automation best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

5–10 years’ experience in automation testing within enterprise environments
Strong hands-on experience building and enhancing automation frameworks
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
Understanding of agile and scrum methodologies
Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools
Experience with Playwright and/or Selenium for UI automation
Experience with JMeter or similar performance testing frameworks
Experience with scripting languages such as Python and/or JavaScript
Experience with complex digital products or high-traffic e-commerce platforms
Familiarity with e-commerce workflows such as checkout, payments and inventory
Experience testing native iOS and Android mobile applications
Familiarity with cross-device and mobile network testing
Knowledge and understanding of digital accessibility standards such as WCAG
Experience testing products for accessibility compliance
Ability to write and execute basic to intermediate SQL queries
Self-starter who takes initiative and prioritises
Ability to drive action amid ambiguity and work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills
