About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as senior commercial owner and primary strategic relationship leader for assigned global key accounts
- Develop and execute multi-year global account plans covering revenue, profitability, share-of-wallet, strategic priorities, relationships, competitive positioning, and opportunities
- Analyze customer strategy, market position, financial performance, product portfolio, technology roadmap, manufacturing footprint, sourcing strategy, supply chain priorities, and growth objectives
- Identify whitespace, cross-selling opportunities, geographic expansion opportunities, and deeper strategic participation
- Build relationships across Procurement, Engineering, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, business-unit leadership, and executive management
- Manage QBRs, Executive Business Reviews, executive sponsorship meetings, innovation workshops, and strategic planning sessions
- Own revenue, profitable growth, retention, and pipeline performance for assigned accounts
- Build and maintain qualified opportunity pipelines aligned with account plans and MTS priorities
- Expand MTS participation across customer products, programs, applications, business units, and manufacturing locations
- Lead cross-selling of medical-grade materials, precision components, value-add solutions, and contract development and manufacturing capabilities
- Lead major opportunities from identification and qualification through technical evaluation, commercial development, negotiation, award, and commercialization
- Establish commercial strategies balancing customer requirements with growth, profitability, capacity, risk, and strategic objectives
- Lead global RFQs, pricing initiatives, proposals, negotiations, and strategic sourcing discussions
- Negotiate pricing, volume commitments, forecasts, payment terms, supply commitments, long-term agreements, productivity expectations, and other commercial terms
- Develop global commercial best practices across regions, sites, and product lines
- Provide recommendations requiring senior or executive approval
- Maintain account and market intelligence, including competitive threats, sourcing trends, supplier consolidation, acquisitions, programs, technology shifts, and footprint changes
- Translate customer intelligence into recommendations for Sales Leadership, Product Line Management, Strategic Marketing, Operations, and executive leadership
- Lead periodic global account reviews covering performance, pipeline, strategic progress, risks, resources, and next actions
- Own TekniPlex MTS business with customers globally and mobilize the organization to execute account strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline required
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic account management, business development, sales, or related commercial leadership roles
- Responsibility for large, complex customer relationships
- Experience managing global or multi-region strategic accounts strongly preferred
- Experience within medical devices, medical components, polymers, contract manufacturing, or another highly engineered manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience managing customer relationships across multiple business units, manufacturing locations, product platforms, and geographic regions
- Strong understanding of medical device applications, technical requirements, specifications, manufacturing processes, and product development environments
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing strategy, forecasting, profitability analysis, complex negotiations, contracts, and long-term agreements
- Ability to develop relationships and influence decisions across customer functions and organizational levels, including senior and executive leadership
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders within a global, matrixed organization without direct reporting authority
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities, opportunities, and commercial risks independently
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, approximately 30–50%
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Ability to effectively present information to employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, percentage, algebra, geometry, fractions, and proportions
- Ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
