About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop next-generation multispectral imaging systems using infrared, low-light, and visible-light technologies
Design and implement low-level hardware interfacing software for imaging sensors
Implement real-time multiprocessor communication methodologies
Implement complex serial and packetized protocols across Ethernet, MS1553, ARINC, CAN, and serial connections
Use version control software such as Git
Collaborate with FPGA, Electrical, and Mechanical engineers throughout software design, development, and testing
Build collaborative team relationships and participate in cross-discipline coalitions to share knowledge across teams and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

U.S. Citizenship required
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or applicable technical field
10+ years of embedded real-time development experience for multithreaded software
Complete command of C/C++ programming language
Fluency in object-oriented design methods
Familiarity with software development, configuration management, and defect tracking tools
Experience with Linux kernel drivers and interfacing to custom hardware
Experience with asymmetric multiprocessing techniques
Experience with multithreaded software and real-time systems
Experience with serial and packetized protocols over Ethernet, MS1553, ARINC, CAN, and/or serial connections
Experience with TCP/IP, RTP, NMEA, JSON, and REST API
Experience using Git or similar version control tools
Commercial real-time operating systems experience is a plus
Experience with real-time video streaming methodologies, hardware-accelerated compression, transport, MISB metadata management is a plus
FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems experience is a plus
SQL or other database experience is a plus
Familiarity with Qt Application Framework and QML is a plus
Experience with Xilinx or Qualcomm Snapdragon architectures is a plus
Experience with networking protocols is a plus
Java software development experience is a plus
Demonstrated technical team leadership is a plus
