About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the design, development, and testing of software for connected medical device systems
- Support sustainment of the current Rhythm DLX Navigation system and development of the next-generation navigation platform
- Write, debug, and unit test C++ and/or C# software in embedded and/or application software environments under senior engineer guidance
- Assist with software design control documentation, including requirements, traceability, risk mitigations, V&V protocols, and test reports
- Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional design discussions within Agile/Scrum
- Investigate and troubleshoot software defects, identify root causes, and implement solutions
- Explore AI/ML concepts and AI-based development tools on assigned engineering projects
- Document work and present progress and findings to the software team and stakeholders
- Comply with Teleflex’s Code of Ethics, Quality System, company policies, rules, and housekeeping standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- At least one academic term remaining after the internship
- Prior coursework, academic projects, or internship experience in software development preferred
- Exposure to embedded systems, medical devices, or another regulated industry is a plus but not required
- Working knowledge of C++ and/or C# through coursework or project experience
- Exposure to embedded systems and/or Linux-based development environments preferred
- Coursework or project experience involving AI/ML concepts preferred
- Familiarity with AI-based software development tools preferred
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle concepts and Agile/Scrum methodology preferred
- Exposure to medical device or other regulated software development, including design controls and verification & validation, a plus but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate requirements into working software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional engineering team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine interest in medical device software and intent to pursue a full-time software engineering role following graduation
