About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop product and material testing according to ASTM and ISO guidelines and internal quality procedures
- Communicate test flows and technical details between engineering and technicians
- Train technicians and provide technical oversight for physical, thermal, and chemical testing of raw materials and finished products
- Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment, ensuring instrumentation is calibrated, functional, and compliant
- Execute testing and operate equipment to support aggressive timelines
- Ensure data integrity and good documentation practices
- Supervise test execution for technical rigor and protocol adherence
- Improve laboratory processes, workflows, and compliance practices
- Assist with laboratory digital and compliance systems, including Bluehill, ImageJ, LabVIEW, and Python-based software
- Execute test method development, technical investigations, root-cause analyses, tooling coordination, and documentation
- Plan and execute test method validations with Design Assurance
- Support change control for laboratory protocols, calibration schedules, maintenance logs, and procedures
- Review laboratory requests, assign priorities, and allocate resources based on timelines and capacity
- Review and approve laboratory test documentation and compliant reporting
- Plan test operations with project teams, including design of experiments and test planning
- Follow Teleflex’s Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline
- 3+ years of proven experience working in a technical/laboratory setting
- 3+ years of engineering experience
- Force testing experience, such as Instron or equivalent mechanical test systems
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data, including practical application of statistical techniques
- Statistical competency, including data visualization and basic modeling
- Technical writing skills for clear, concise test reports and documentation
- Competency with Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity tools
- Proficiency in Word document formatting, table creation, and template usage
- Proficiency in Excel data manipulation, graphing, and calculations
- Ability to navigate file systems, manage large data sets, and share information digitally
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to translate technical findings to engineering, project management, and technician audiences
- Ability to supervise studies, identify technician needs, and address technical concerns
- Six Sigma training, Green Belt or higher, beneficial
- Understanding of Design Control processes in an ISO 13485/21 CFR 820 environment
- SolidWorks experience
- Experience with equipment qualification, IQ/OQ/PQ
- Experience with change management systems such as Agile PLM or Windchill
- Experience with fluid-based systems and transducers such as pressure and flow
