About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and evolve the target architecture for DNA’s large-scale B2B online platform
  • Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects on scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and cost efficiency
  • Lead architectural work across online microservices and APIs
  • Ensure clear service boundaries, consistent patterns, and a strong engineering baseline
  • Review critical designs and code and create reference implementations when needed
  • Help development teams translate architectural direction into production-ready solutions
  • Embed security-by-design through secure architectural principles, integration patterns, and development guidelines
  • Facilitate trade-off discussions and make decisions balancing business needs, technical risks, and long-term sustainability
  • Support leadership with complex technical topics, security and technology risk management, and architectural prioritization
  • Strengthen engineering practices including testable architecture, CI/CD, and automated quality and security checks
  • Support responsible integration of AI and agentic approaches into architecture and ways of working
  • Establish governance, consistency, and production readiness for AI-enabled engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid experience as a Software Architect / Lead Engineer in complex, business-critical systems
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Ability and willingness to work close to the code and help teams translate architecture into working software
  • Strong understanding of microservice architectures and integration design, including API-first thinking
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms and complex product catalogs
  • Experience ideally in configurable products, subscriptions, or service-based offerings
  • Cloud-native mindset and production orientation, including observability, reliability, and security-by-design
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining architecture to engineers and business stakeholders
  • Confidence to drive alignment and decisions under uncertainty
  • Strong understanding of agentic development and AI-enabled engineering
  • Ability to define architectural guardrails for scalable, secure, and sustainable platforms
  • Approved statement of security clearance required
  • Application may be submitted in Finnish or English
