About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day legal support for business operations across India and other jurisdictions as required
- Draft and review standard commercial contracts
- Support operational, risk, regulatory, and compliance matters
- Assist the General Counsel with special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and IPO readiness activities
- Draft, review, and support negotiations for commercial and operational agreements
- Identify non-standard legal issues for escalation
- Provide practical legal advice on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute, and corporate matters
- Work with internal stakeholders and external counsel to deliver timely, commercially aligned outcomes
- Support governance processes, including board materials, related-party transaction documentation, contract approval workflows, and legal checklists
- Track regulatory developments and support impact assessments and mitigation actions
- Improve legal processes, contract templates, CLM tools, SOPs, and legal trackers
- Prepare legal updates, guidance notes, and training materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- Law degree from a recognised institution
- Called to the Bar in India, Malaysia, Singapore, or an equivalent common law jurisdiction
- 4–6 years of post-qualification experience
- At least 2 years in private practice
- Preferably exposure to logistics, M&A, corporate transactions, intellectual property, and/or data privacy matters
- Exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement, or large-scale corporate projects is an advantage
- Strong transactional and commercial legal experience
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements in cross-border or multi-jurisdictional settings
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment and manage ambiguity and competing priorities
- Ability to work independently, initiate projects, and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision
- Stakeholder management skills across multiple geographies
- Experience handling fast-moving, high-pressure issues with sound judgment and pragmatic decision-making
