About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work on Teleport Core Product across performance, scalability, security, networking, and integrations with external systems
Work through the full product lifecycle, from understanding customer problems to writing RFDs, implementing, testing, and documenting solutions
Become an expert on Teleport scalability, performance, and reliability in large deployments
Design, develop, and ship high-quality products
Lead a distributed team of engineers
Write most code in Go
Collaborate with other Teleport teams on scalability and performance
Work directly with customers to diagnose and remediate performance issues
Grow technical expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need

Willingness to collaborate on a coding challenge in Go as part of the interview process
Builder mentality and hands-on experience building zero-to-one products
Extensive Go experience
Extensive experience developing scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems and platforms
Strong team leadership
Engineering management experience
Linux systems engineering experience
Knowledge of Identity Management, RBAC, ABAC, and zero-trust security models
Intellectual curiosity and willingness to master new technologies
Transparency, honesty, and a no-ego mindset
Significant open-source contributions are a plus
Must currently live in the US
Must be able to attend onboarding week in person at Teleport HQ in Oakland, California
Must be willing to undergo background, education, and employment verification
Must complete a take-home coding challenge in Go using GitHub, typically taking about two weeks
