About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, enhance, maintain, and support applications using the PowerBuilder framework
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Design, develop, and modify PowerBuilder applications and components
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
Perform application debugging, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution
Participate in application modernization, enhancement, and migration initiatives
Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, architects, and other engineering teams
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development and coding standards
Develop and execute unit tests and support system/integration testing
Prepare and maintain technical documentation
Participate in release and deployment activities
Provide L2/L3 production support and ensure timely resolution of critical incidents
Identify opportunities to improve application performance, stability, maintainability, and user experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of hands-on experience developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise applications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Strong expertise in PowerBuilder, SQL, and relational databases
Good understanding of application development and production support processes
Experience with PowerBuilder upgrades or migration to newer versions is a bonus
Experience with PowerBuilder DataWindow and complex UI development is a bonus
Exposure to REST/SOAP APIs and application integrations is a bonus
Experience with application modernization or migration from legacy technologies is a bonus
Knowledge of .NET, Java, or other modern application technologies is a plus
Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications is a bonus
Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices is desirable
