About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform bone density and body composition scans
- Identify patients correctly and maintain confidentiality
- Explain procedures and assist members with positioning for accurate imaging
- Complete patient screening and maintain imaging quality standards
- Reproduce scans accurately and troubleshoot positioning or technical issues
- Address member needs and concerns during visits
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete imaging records in required systems
- Perform routine equipment and peripheral performance checks
- Report non-operational equipment or equipment failures to the Operations Manager
- Maintain clean, organized procedure areas and prepare materials
- Participate in educational programs, trainings, and workshops
- Support accreditation, quality assurance, and safety initiatives
- Lead training and evaluation of new imaging technologists
- Support the evolution of imaging protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to optimize workflows and member experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited medical radiography program
- Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Current MRT registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
- Proficiency in performing bone densitometry scans and body composition imaging
- Proficiency in PACS/RIS and electronic health records (EHR) platforms
- Comfort learning new health IT systems
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong professional judgment, organization, and time management
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and data-analysis abilities
- Diligent, autonomous, punctual, discreet, with excellent people skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and a high-touch member experience
- 1+ years of experience working in bone mineral density (BMD) imaging is a great-to-have
- Experience operating bone densitometry devices, particularly GE Lunar Prodigy systems, is a great-to-have
- Ability to create protocols and manuals for team training and standardization is a great-to-have
- Experience in preventative health, executive health, or private healthcare is considered an asset
