About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and follow up on medical files, including disability and CNESST cases
  • Recommend, coordinate, and implement return-to-work plans following long-term absences
  • Establish and analyze performance indicators for absenteeism and disability case management
  • Participate in workplace accident investigations and enter medical information into the computerized management system
  • Administer the employee health program through medical examinations and maintenance of medical records
  • Analyze medical examination results, arrange follow-ups, and implement corrective measures
  • Review the health program annually based on company requirements and occupational-health developments
  • Maintain and calibrate medical equipment
  • Provide medical and clinical care for injuries or occupational illnesses involving employees and contractors
  • Coordinate emergency interventions and manage first responders
  • Manage first-aid supply inventory, orders, and replenishment
  • Train temporary nurses and paramedics covering shutdown and vacation periods
  • Develop and implement preventive measures
  • Coordinate health, wellness, and psychosocial-risk management programs
  • Participate in monthly meetings with nurses across the Valero network
  • Plan and implement the annual influenza vaccination campaign
  • Analyze data and recommend health-promotion activities
  • Support managers with disability cases and propose actions to improve absenteeism indicators

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical or professional nursing experience
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ)
  • Experience managing disability cases
  • Relevant experience in occupational health and an industrial environment is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Functional English proficiency to communicate orally and in writing with English-speaking colleagues
  • Intermediate English proficiency required for regular interaction with external and internal parties and use of an English-language IT environment
