About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Cultivate and qualify leads from biotechnology clients
  • Support biotechnology clients in advancing research, clinical, and/or commercial programs
  • Drive awareness and leverage Tempus products and services in data, testing, and patient recruitment support
  • Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with Biotech and Big Pharma leads
  • Structure strategic plans for gaining new clients
  • Craft custom outreach based on prospect personas
  • Qualify sales opportunities and achieve monthly goals
  • Implement Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)
  • Develop target prospect lists and manage the book of business
  • Collaborate with Business Development, General Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents, Translational, and Operations teams
  • Identify and develop partnering opportunities between prospective biotechnology clients and Tempus
  • Source leads, map stakeholders, and generate client pipeline opportunities
  • Monitor sales performance to ensure objectives are met
  • Represent Tempus culture to internal and external constituents
  • Work remotely with a high level of individual accountability
  • Pursue personal and professional growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Preferably 2+ years of inside sales experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Proven past performance meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Ability to engage in consultative selling and overcome objections
  • Comfortable selling at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO)
  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, prioritize daily tasks, and manage critical deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
  • Outstanding strategic sales account planning skills
  • Proven ability to manage the sales process
  • Superior listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective and regular utilization of Salesforce.com
  • Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships
  • Advanced presentation skills and business acumen
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and technical learning skills
