Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major U.S. cancer centers, clinics, and large oncology practices
  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders and academic medical centers
  • Structure strategic plans to gain and retain clients
  • Maximize client-bill contracting opportunities
  • Implement laboratory services agreements with bill-account institutions
  • Collaborate with sales leaders and representatives to achieve company goals
  • Identify and develop partnering opportunities between prospective oncology clients and Tempus
  • Promote adoption and compliance with web-based molecular information tools
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and account environments and provide customer feedback
  • Monitor sales performance against objectives
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive territory business plan covering budgets, travel, territory management, and goals
  • Work effectively across multiple departments
  • Represent Tempus culture to internal and external constituents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in life science, biology, business or marketing required; MBA preferred
  • 2–3 years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic setting with proven past performance
  • 3–5 years of experience working with major cancer centers and clinics, oncology GPOs, large health systems, IHDNs, and large oncology practices
  • Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company
  • Ability to provide an integrated MolDx/SaaS solution using sequencing technology
  • Consultative selling and objection-handling ability
  • Comfortable selling at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO)
  • Understanding of payer and reimbursement environments in oncology and diagnostics
  • Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology and competitive landscapes
  • Knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted agents
  • Excellent negotiation, customer service, presentation, communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective and regular use of Salesforce.com
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Strong administrative skills and business acumen
  • Frequent travel (>50%) throughout the territory
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
