About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply technical knowledge of pest-control chemicals and their use
- Follow federal, state, local, and company pest-control regulations and the Commercial Service manual
- Maintain and service route customers according to company standards
- Call the office daily as required and submit daily service reports
- Advise customers of potential problems
- Report service-route problems to management
- Maintain pesticide inventory and service records according to EPA standards
- Collect delinquent accounts
- Keep service equipment and vehicle clean and properly maintained
- Assist on other routes as directed
- Complete required training programs within prescribed time limits
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 months of related experience preferred
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, or local regulations
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic and calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to complete required federal, state, local, and company training for certification
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and/or weekends
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and electrically and manually powered hand tools
- Ability to meet physical requirements and/or pass medical certification for PPE, including an OSHA-compliant respirator
- Safe driving record
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hazardous conditions, chemical exposure, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and around animals and insects
