About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect client properties for pest infestations, damage, and entry points
- Apply approved pest-control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps
- Educate customers on pest-prevention methods and reducing future infestation risks
- Build customer relationships, schedule and confirm appointments, support sales to current customers, and expand products to new customers
- Maintain, stock, and ensure the safe working condition of pest-control equipment
- Follow local, state, and federal pest-control product and safety regulations
- Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle
- Perform industry-leading pest-management services for residential customers
- Identify pest types and determine appropriate treatments
- Communicate pest-control solutions to clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the employer)
- Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
- Clean-shaven face for respirator safety
- Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills sufficient to follow product-label mixing instructions
- Customer-facing experience preferred
- Ability to work in tight, confined spaces
- Ability to work inside and outside in the local climate
- Ability to regularly sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to work around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, fumes, dust, and chemicals
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
