About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the Primary Instructor to teach, present, or facilitate most of the Army Strategic Education Program–Transition Course (ASEP-T)
  • Serve as lead instructor when the Primary Instructor is unavailable
  • Co-instruct five five-day ASEP-T courses annually for up to 18 General Officers in person or 22 online, plus spouses
  • Develop and maintain modular curriculum adaptable to face-to-face and online delivery using tools such as Zoom and Teams
  • Ensure curriculum meets VOW Act, TAP, Soldier for Life, and Department of Labor requirements
  • Guide participants in building transition plans, career goals, assessments, and translating military experience into civilian terms
  • Instruct on resumes/CVs, cover letters, networking, LinkedIn, social media, job searches, personal branding, interviewing, salary negotiation, and post-interview actions
  • Facilitate internet- and AI-enabled exercises, resume building, mock interviews, and mock offer negotiations
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions, including resume critiques, transition plan feedback, strengths assessments, and networking and LinkedIn reviews
  • Support integrated spouse curriculum and spouse-specific breakout sessions
  • Support the Day 2 no-host networking event with recently retired General Officers
  • Support the annual one-day Introductory Transition Module for up to 200 students and customized Four-Star Executive Sessions
  • Provide follow-on coaching for up to two hours per participant for up to 90 days after retirement
  • Administer pre-course surveys and evaluations, participate in after-action reviews, and contribute to post-course, quarterly, and annual reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to pass NCIC-III and Terrorist Screening Database background checks for Army installation and facility access
  • No security clearance required
  • A master’s degree in business, management, counseling, or a related field; or experience plus recognized industry credentials or certifications in human resources management, career counseling, or career services
  • Military veteran who transitioned within the last ten (10) years at the rank of O-4 or above, or as an E-9 (SGM/CSM)
  • Three (3) or more years of experience leading talent management, recruiting, or counseling General Officers or senior military executives
  • Three (3) or more years of experience with executive-level curriculum development and delivery, training or educating an executive-level audience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working with or for Army Generals, senior military officers, and/or senior civilian executives
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in executive leadership in government or a public or private corporation
  • Two (2) or more years of experience helping Army leaders translate military experience and attributes into civilian executive-level experience and attributes
  • Two (2) or more years of public speaking experience
  • Ability to travel within CONUS, including to the National Capital Region for in-person courses
  • Current PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or executive coaching credential is an advantage
  • Experience delivering executive transition or career curriculum online/virtually is an advantage
  • Prior experience instructing ASEP-T, TAP, or other senior-leader career transition programs is an advantage
  • Experience designing or delivering spouse and family transition programming is an advantage
  • Fluency with AI-enabled job search tools, LinkedIn, and executive personal branding is an advantage
