About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain all machines in good working order
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical failures
- Assist technicians in other departments within the section
- Work with the Central Engineering Group on equipment-upgrade projects
- Receive production, maintenance, or troubleshooting instructions from the Supervisor
- Troubleshoot high-speed manufacturing equipment and perform electrical and mechanical repairs
- Verify inspection units, heats, pressures, raw-material condition, and machine operation
- Oversee the safety of personnel and machinery in the department
- Perform scheduled repairs, preventive maintenance, machine improvements, auxiliary-equipment repairs, and emergency breakdown repairs
- Set up production equipment and perform quality checks before production line startup
- Participate in project performance team meetings and provide ideas for performance improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- AA degree in a relevant field
- At least 2 years of experience
- Problem-solving skills and knowledge of complex electronic controls and instruments
- Knowledge of motor drive units, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with test and calibration equipment
- Blueprint/schematic reading
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Hand-eye coordination for precise and critical adjustments
- Exacting attention to work being performed
- Ability to perform considerable standing, reaching, pulling, stooping, and similar physical activities
- Ability to follow applicable national and international regulations
- Ability to comply with gowning procedures for a controlled environment
- Ability to work safely around high-speed machinery and in high-noise areas, using eye and hearing protection
