About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the condition, yield and efficiency of injection molding machines, molds and extrusion lines through troubleshooting
  • Perform emergency maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Hang molds and complete mold and machine changeovers
  • Operate molding machines and load programs
  • Complete production and maintenance paperwork and documentation
  • Diagnose part problems related to machines, molds or processes
  • Disassemble and assemble molds without damaging tooling
  • Use precision equipment to troubleshoot and measure tooling
  • Use SolidWorks and drawings to check and order tooling
  • Troubleshoot tooling problems, including hot runner systems
  • Diagnose injection molding machine problems and repair electrical, hydraulic or mechanical issues
  • Order spare parts, maintain electrical-component inventory and monitor usage
  • Identify more durable replacement parts and interact with vendors regarding parts and pricing
  • Perform tooling inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Work with engineering on new projects and production-equipment upgrades
  • Follow TMC Quality System requirements, including process controls, inspection procedures, document/data control and change control practices
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree (AA) in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and experience with pneumatic systems preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with hydraulic systems preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical systems preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand, reach, pull and stoop; occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
  • Hand-eye coordination for precise and critical adjustments
  • Ability to follow gowning procedures for a controlled environment
  • Ability to follow Lockout Tagout procedures and safety requirements
  • Industrial Electric training with a degree or certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience with SolidWorks preferred
  • Arc Flash Training preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated industry preferred
  • Industrial safety training preferred
