About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Increase company revenue and retain existing revenue in the assigned region through sales of Terumo Interventional Systems products
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals while increasing profitability and controlling expenses within the regional budget
  • Manage a Regional Business Team consisting of Territory Managers and Field Clinicals
  • Attract, retain, coach, motivate, educate, and performance-manage field team members
  • Develop relationships with upper management and key decision makers within customer networks
  • Travel with Field Team members and conduct joint sales calls to evaluate progress and provide feedback and guidance
  • Communicate product issues, competitive activity, pricing, industry trends, and field intelligence to internal stakeholders
  • Develop regional sales strategies for implementation by the Regional Business Team
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounts to drive growth through contracting and business reviews across GPO, IDN, government, and independent accounts
  • Attend trade shows, conventions, and seminars
  • Oversee compliance, expense control, and field inventory management
  • Review weekly and monthly sales and expense reports with the Field Team
  • Meet with key physicians and maintain continuing relationships to support product recommendations
  • Maintain existing accounts and resolve problems promptly
  • Maintain patient safety and product quality compliance, including forwarding customer complaints to Quality Assurance
  • Ensure promotional messaging and materials are clinically accurate and comply with AdvaMed guidelines and Terumo policies
  • Adhere to FDA regulations, international guidelines, and Terumo policies
  • Promote a compliant work environment among coworkers and direct reports
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ medical device sales experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ management experience of a commercial field team
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may qualify
  • If no direct commercial field management experience, a minimum of 3 full fiscal years of direct Sales or Corporate Accounts experience at Terumo with a proven track record of success may substitute for 2 years’ management experience
  • Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and/or Operating Room sales experience preferred
  • Proven record of sales excellence
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Personal automobile with an active vehicle insurance policy
  • Ability to drive daily to and from customer accounts and travel long distances by airplane
  • Ability to work with frequent overnight travel and travel outside the assigned region, including weekends
  • Ability to gain access to and work in IR suites, Cath labs, and Operating Rooms
  • Ability to wear appropriate gowning, stand for long periods, comply with hospital policies/protocols, and be aware of potential biohazards
  • Leadership, coaching, development, and performance-management abilities

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills
